Obama's Speech on Race

The outcome of American presidential election just revealed: Barack Obama was elected America's 44th president. He is the nation's first black president, which is a landmark in American history that has been steeped in racial tensions. His impressive victory says a lot about America.

Obama often discussed his biracial biography — son of a mother from Kansas and a father from Kenya — and argued that he could bridge the country's long-standing racial divides. The following link will lead you to Obama's famous speech on race:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/03/18/obama-race-speech-read-t_n_92077.html
And here is his victory speech.

You can see how charismatic he is as a speaker. Feel free to write down anything that draws your attention.

Speaking of Obama-- the new president of the America, to be frank, I don’t know much about him. However, based on my information so far, I have to admit that I admire him to some great extent.
After I finished listening the whole speech, the only thing I could perceive is that “YES! He can! ” I had goose bumps many times while I was hearing all the people yelled out in chorus “Yes, we will! Yes, we will!” How enormous and mighty of faith and expectation were assembled at that moment. I don’t know much about the racial discrimination in America. However, if I were a black, I would be really surprised when my grandma confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street. It just like an intangible needle stabbed into my heart directly. On account of the experience, the occasion has uttered racial and ethnic stereotypes that made Obama cringe. He just be the right one who can make the change not only in the black but in the United States of America. Excluding progress of the country, that is mutual and powerful belonging of every folk. I like this paragraph in his victory speech: “To those who would tear this world down – we will defeat you. To those who seek peace and security – we support you. And to all those who have wondered if America’s beacon still burns as bright – tonight we proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from our the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity, and unyielding hope.” Insensibly, the hot tears welled up in my eyes. I was convinced that we are friends and none of hurdles will break our bonds of affection. We’re the community. This belief which was spread by firm and determined expression in Obama's eyes let people know “Yes, we certainly can.” How vigorous and impressive! I almost lost my heart to him. XD

I first time knew Obama is on my English magazine. I don't know why but really attrated by his speech. His speech is full of power and hope. He didn't want to arose the war of race but just insist the posibility of American. I think he has a kind of charm to make everyone believe him without doubt. It's a important quality of a leader. I do believe that he could bring something different for American and world.

I’m really glad to see that Obama become the first black president of USA. This is a landmark of USA’s history. After, a long hard time of fighting for equal right, they finally accomplished it. They had worked so hard to reach what they want. It began from 1960s Civil Right Movement, and there were so many people devoted themselves in this movement, such as Martin Luther King. Obama is very good at speech. He can provoke people’s passion, and make them believe they can change. While listening to his speech, we can find that he really know what people really want. He know that all kinds of people in America longing for equality of rights. They don’t want to be categorized. Moreover, as the economic crisis getting worse, people lost their hope and faith. So know what American want is not being a military strong country, but want to have a happiness lives. Obama’s speech makes them believe they can trust him, and he will bring them to have better lives.

When I knew the outcome of America presidential election, I felt little surprise about Barack Obama was elected America's 44th president. In my opinion, America is a country which mixes with different races, and most white people are the major dominators in American society. I think this outcome of presidential election will lead the U.S.A to the new visions for the world. And based on his speech, he attributes his victory to the people in America and inspires them to love their own nation. Besides, he also mentions the racial inequality and discrimination. He wants to do his best to make his people are all equal. I am very impressed by his speech. Through the speech, I can feel that he has a great prospect for America. He is a confident and convincing leader. Hope he can make success and achieve his goals !

Obama made a great change in American society. Both for he is the first African-American to be American president, and showed racial equality in American society. There used to be dominated by white people in America in the past. Now Obama’s victory showed there was a big difference over there. I consider that Obama’s victory was not only for the economic recession but also for his good speech. He is a man who is good in deliver speeches. In journalism, he knew how to choose the best frame to deliver a speech and make most of people trust him. After that, people would make a spiral of silence to encourage most of people to support this president candidate. If candidates want to win the election, they need to know how to make the best frame to effect electors.

Before the election, I didn’t understand why Obama has been such a popular candidate until I listened to his speech. He is such a wonderful speaker!
I am really impressed by his speech, especially when he said ‘We are, and always will be, the United States of America.’ Now Barack Obama has become the president; I believe that he can make some great changed in the U.S. I think with his special background--son of a mother from Kansas and a father from Kenya, he has the ability to bridge the racial divides among the nation. In addition, I really appreciate his politics which will benefit the middle-class. His victory is a breakthrough in the history of the United States.

Obama is the special president in America because of his biracial background, that is, he is not the innocent American. However, he won the election through his brief. He think that our society can be free from lots of barrier; for example, he think we can get rid of the prejudice of other races. He has a very famous saying is that America is American America; in other word, he wants to pursue the freedom of so much barrages. Many people believe he will take people to the free country, and they trust the United Stated of America will be better under Obama’s lead. I do think his win prove that people want this world to become better, and they certainly do the best choice.

The speech he took on his victory of American 44th presidential election is so cheering to people by the powerful words .He always can use simple sentences and get much more nice feedbacks from the audience .It seems that he has a magical power can get people’s agreements easily . Even after I watch , I am also astonished for the atmosphere that he made . Honestly ,it was really touching me . The sentences in the speech like “Tonight you prove that all things are possible in America .” “Tonight is your answer .” “Change has come to America .”These are easy but it collide into your heart right away .
Being a black person , his victory which represents a new beginning in America’s civilization is also an attempt that comes from the residents . He is creating history from now on .Having such an important task ,he will be judged seriously and expandly in the future. But I believe he may seize the chance and do something totally different to promise what he said . He is the only one who can come to some achievements in racial problems and so on .
Let’s expect!

I am really impressed by Barack Obama’s speech for his charismatic as a speaker and his behavior is full of confidence. He believes that he is the right one solve the race problems for his special identity of biracial biography. In his speech, he says American can not solve the challenges of their time unless they solve them together. It shows that there are still a lot of racial problems in the U.S.A although they had emphasized there is a nation of multicultural while the fact is white people are still the mainstream group in the country. "We the people, in order to form a more perfect union." Said by Obama, it take everyone’s efforts to make the U.S.A. a unitided country . As a first black president of the U.S.A. in the history, I believe Obama can do a good job at dealing the racial problems.

Almost all the Americans are excited about their new president.
It is the first black president for the United States.
The most important things for him right now is to discuss how to bring the United States out from economy rush.
Lots of people are looking for a change in the United States right now.
Hope he can achieve his political view "We Need to Change".

I am not so surprised before I saw Obama's speech. After then, I found that his words have a kind of power which makes people believe his can really bring something to change. I was touching when I heard what he said in the speech. It's a proof that he is different from other candidates. I think that time will prove he has the ability to meet what people want.
In short, U.S.A. is going to be a new world even in many perspectives.

Obama is man who has originality; in his Speech we can see that. Every word seems to have some nameless power, and it can touch our hearts. Because of his special background, he can see more than other pure American person. He notices the problem about American society. He has told what the people think “we need to change.” I think only he can do it. All of us are look forward to the change by his fresh thinking.

In Obama's speech , I feel impressed by him. Because evey words he said are really powerful and resolute. And I think what he said it reasonable of what he said. I relly takes a lot of time to develope a whole country into perfect. But it is actually impossible, there still some place could be improved. In America's society, black people have been discriminated for a long long time. It just let me feel strange, it happended in Taiwan before ,too. We called people who lived here native in an impolite way. Moreover we repelled them to go away. I think no one has the power or right to drgrade other people. The way we get along with people must depend on respect .

When Obama is going to compete in the president election in America,he become well-known overnight. He is often compared with Martin Luther, and most important is,he has blood of black people.A block-skin person compete to president is a big new in America, even the world;we all know that Amrica used to discriminate black people. But now Obama, this black president, represent an advance, just like 呂秀蓮 is a first female vice president. And I really glad to see Obama become the president.

I think American like their new president very much, and so do I. I think Obama is quite different from other candidate not just for his black identity. His policies and his attitude are both the reason people like him so much. And I believe he will do a good job and I expect to see the development of America in the future.

I didn’t know Obama very well until preparing my speech of Oral and Speaking Class. All I knew was he was a black presidential candidate. But when I prepared the speech, I found how unprecedented to the American history if Obama was selected to be a president (when I prepared the speech, he was not selected to be the president yet). He was a mix-blood person. His father was Kenyan while his mother was American. When he became a new American president, he made the American historical book to have a brand new page. He was the first black American president. And I was glad about that point. Black people had been a minor group for a very long time. I think when Obama become a president, the benefits of the minor groups can be noticed more than before.

And I think his impassioned speeches are one of his victory reasons. He has a very good oratorical talent. When I listened to his speech, I felt he was really great and he could lead America to a new height. His speeches could encourage people to believe he was the best one to be the president. Now, he wins the election, and the whole world is waiting to see how he leads America to a new success.

When speaking of a leading proponent, Martin Luther King Jr. is one of names that people will think of. In my opinion, Barack Obama is a similar type of leading proponent and icon for the current American citizens. Barack Obama is also capable of making an amazing speech.

I think this sentence; "we the people, in order to form a more perfect union" is the motivation for Obama of becoming the president of the United States. He said "we are, and always will be, the United States of America."

As a first African American president, we hope he doesn’t fall short of our expectations.

It's kind of interesting that Obama said "I have brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, uncles and cousins, of every race and every hue, scattered across three continents, and for as long as I live, I will never forget that in no other country on Earth is my story even possible." To be frankly, I don't believe that it is true. I think that America won't be the country FOREVER be the dominant power of the world and to be the only country which have stories like the one Obama has. Nevertheless, I can understand if it is for the sake of presidental election.

When Obama having a speak, he says every words firmly. His speech is long, but it’s organized. He keeps emphasizing no matter which state you from, which political party or racial you belong are the people of United States. He’s trying to make all Americans come together.

It’s unbelievable when listen to his speech I feel encouraged, and it seems all things will be better if he becomes the president of the United States. Although I’m not an American.

I'm really glad that Obama becomes the first black president of the United States. That is a good improvement in America's society. And not like the other presidents, whose personality has the so-called combative trait, Obama doesn't like to fight though I don't know that is true or not. He is really different from other candidates. He even told the public his mother is an American and his father is an Afican. He didn't feel ashamed of himself in this society which has some stereotype toward balck people.

I am happy to see Obama to become the first African-American presidant, and this is an super innovation about democracy. Obama uses his clear words to claims his willings and resolution to change the world, and I believe he can really change it. I think with Obama's leadership, America can be better than now. To change is not a bad thing, and I believe Obama can bring a whole new perspective for us.

I am happy that Obama won the election. It is so meaningful that all of the world will remermber it. I think it shows us that if you tried hard and never give up, you will be good someday. It is known that Obama had druged when he was young. But he make himself return from kept doing the wrong things and waste his time. It could be a good encouragement to those teenagers who feel confussed for their future.
